Adjustable Machine Height Monitor

Helm series SMH and AMH Adjustable Machine Height Monitors are based on Allen Bradley PLC controllers, to accurately monitor and control adjustable motor driven machine height. Precision linear transducers are mounted on the machine, to measure the adjustable height within .005" accuracy. The height value is displayed, with the ability to store and recall target height settings for multiple jobs. Control output relays interface to the machine height adjustment motors, to initiate automatic and correct height adjustments for the desired job. "S" Stand-Alone and "A" PLC Integrated versions are available, in both 4 and 8 channel packages. The units are simple to install and operate, and provide great time savings over manual methods when job changeover for different products is required.

"Stand-Alone" Adjustable Machine Height Monitor for Labeling, Filling & Assorted Packaging Line Machines
Standard Unit Features:
- Proven & reliable Allen Bradley PLC based electronics
- Four (4) or eight (8) channels of machine height monitoring & related circuitry, with ability to accept 0-10 VDC analog input signals from 1-4 or 1-8 linear displacement transducers (LDT’s)
- Displays actual machine heights from connected LDT’s
- Stores proper machine heights for multiple jobs
- Provides proper up/down machine height adjustment output signals when a new job is entered
- System measurement accuracy and display resolution within .005" (Note: actual machine adjustment accuracy dependent upon height adjust drive and machine condition)
- Integral compact color touch screen display (4" diagonal), with functions as per:
- Enter set-up and calibration values for linear displacement transducers
- Show actual machine heights for all connected transducers
- Enter and display proper LDT height values for particular jobs, based on assigned Job Numbers
- Up/down "pushbutton" function on display, to manually adjust machine heights
- Ability to store, recall, and activate up to 100 different "Job based" machine heights for the connected transducers (Note: each LDT to have its own unique machine height for the particular job)
- 120 VAC control voltage up/down outputs, to provide the proper control signals to the machine height motorized actuators (Note: when a new job is entered and activated, the actuators will automatically adjust the machine heights as needed)
- Ability to disable unused channels
- Password protection, to limit machine height adjustment only to authorized personnel
- Unit configured for 120 VAC external power
- All items factory wired and housed in gasketed sealed NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure, for "washdown" protection and corrosion resistance
- Machine height motorized actuators NOT furnished
Unit Options:
- Remote Job Activation feature, to remotely activate a new job with the proper machine height monitor settings, from a Panel View operator interface at the main machine control

- Four (4) or eight (8) channels of machine height monitoring & related hardware, with ability to accept 0-10 VDC analog input signals from 1-4 or 1-8 linear displacement transducers (LDT’s)
- Displays actual machine heights from connected LDT’s
- Stores proper machine heights for multiple jobs
- Provides proper up/down machine height adjustment output signals when a new job is entered
- System measurement accuracy and display resolution within .005" (Note: actual machine adjustment accuracy dependent upon height adjust drive and machine condition)
- Hardware consisting of A/B PLC analog input modules, for installation in open slots of existing PLC control rack

- Enter & display proper LDT machine height values for particular jobs, based on assigned Job Numbers

- Provide the proper control signals to the existing machine height motorized actuators with existing contactors (Note: when a new job is entered & activated, the actuators will automatically adjust the machine as needed)

- Standard Duty Transducer Model H-LDT-SD-XXXX ("XXXX" designates active sensing length in inches; "0120" is 12.0" length)
- Sensing lengths from 12.0" to 60.0", in .1" increments
- For mounting on motorized adjustable machine support legs, to provide a calibrated output signal for machine height
- Can be mounted for vertical (height) or horizontal machine adjustment
